You should have healthy, shining teeth to have a good look. But what if your teeth are missing? You can easily use dentures for your missing teeth. We will be discussing the Dentures or the false teeth which are used to replace or fill up the missing teeth or the jaw using artificial gum as a support for the artificial teeth.
Types of dentures:
Dentures are usually divided into two types and here you can find their details:
Partial Dentures: Partial dentures can be used for replacing some of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw (anterior and posterior parts) but cannot be used for replacing the entire jaw (upper or lower) as it needs support from the natural teeth so that it can heal firmly with gum and other teeth.
Durability: Usually a Partial denture is used just for replacing the damaged or decaying teeth. It takes about six months for our gums to heal after an extraction. And after the gum heals properly the dentist will be able to craft a new tooth for you according to the space left between the two adjacent teeth.
Used Material: Different types of polymers and metals are used for these dentures, and you can find some dentures made from titanium, cobalt, and chromium. The polymer-made dentures are quite lighter than metals and are easier to repair and maintain. In this case, you can implant permanent denture to avoid such hassles and you can consult a dentist for the same.
Cost: As we discussed earlier this method, needs a lot of time and patience in this process, that’s why the process also costs a lot. Actually, the cost of this process depends on the number of teeth you want to fill or replace and the time taken to heal. So, the cost cannot be guessed or predicted before the treatment. Apart from that, you cannot claim any insurance for such cosmetic dental treatment. So you can search such dental clinics online and check their charges for denture implantation. You can compare their charges to choose an affordable option.
Complete Dentures: Complete dentures are an artificial structure of the entire arc or the entire jaw attach to an artificial gum which can be used to replace or fill the entire arc as it is already fixed with the gum. They are used when there are no teeth left in the arc. And if one or two are left then they are extracted by the dentist and then they fix the complete dentures.
Durability: A competitive denture is usually used by old people who don’t have any teeth. If fixed properly, a complete denture can last around 6 to 10 years. You need to clean your denture every day and you need to remove your denture before you sleep.
Materials Used: Similar to partial dentures, complete dentures are also made from metals and Polymers, and you can find them in Acrylic, and Porcelain. Usually, porcelain is mostly preferred as they have more strength and durability.
Cost: As we read earlier that this process is costlier than what we expect. You need to replace your entire dental setting with this partial denture and you can consult a dentist in this regard.
